2011- So Far So Good xo

Well my darlings HAPPY NEW YEAR! - here it is, a bright shiny new year for us to play in, to mess up in, to laugh in and to get out in the world in! 2011 is gonna be great. We firmly believe that life is more fun when you're making noise, and we are committed to providing you ample opportunities to do just that. We've got some amazing shows planned for you this year and many mysterious weekends yet to unveil themselves! If you're in NYC, MIAMI, WASHINGTON DC, THE BERKSHIRES, JERSEY, LONDON, PARIS, BERLIN OR NEW ORLEANS - keep your eyes on us! We'll be coming to a spot near you in 2011!

In NYC, we heated things up with Boomclique and Smash Mechanics over at Rose's Live Music where our favorite vodka company, 44 Degrees North, was kind enough to supply an open bar. Down in Miami, we kicked off our new monthly series at the decadent and ultra sexy Sole on the Ocean.

RIP Skwaking Chicken

It's true... the chicken lost his head during the secret track last night at Shaken and Stirred...And it might have been my Spiderwoman skills that brought down a small part of the wall last night, but hey! Those are good times. Grace Gotham was serving up some hot nuts with her golden throat and Boots Lamae certainly got the room going with her go-go wiggles. We missed DJ Jess but are always super excited with Twig the Wonderkid makes his way to our turntables! If you missed us last week, never fear - we'll back this Wednesday - fiercer than ever!

Special thanks to everyone who came out in November. We enjoyed a most excellent collaboration with the Inspired Word crew and expect to bring another night of burlesque performers and their original works in March 2011. We were honored also to be the first friday night show at the new RED PALACE in DC! We'll be back in the capital city come January with another festive evening. The Salon Prive in MA was for the grand opening of Pittsfield Bra and Girl

We certainly couldn't send off such an excellent year as 2010 without a bang! We've put together some stellar end of the year productions for you including Sugar Shack's first original scripted show: The Shipwreck Show playing in MA, NY and DC with other dates to follow. Additionally, we are keeping up the good times over at the Delancey every wednesday night with Shaken and Stirred and bringing back our quarterly show at the Jalopy School of Music with the dapper Peculiar Gentleman. We'll be shacking up with them on New Years too when collaborate to bring NY a celebration full of live music and hot burlesque at Rose's Live Music in Williamsburg.

Hello dear ones,

We are happy to report that Sugar Shack Burlesque's first show in London was a huge success! Time Out London listed the show as a critic's choice and heralded Sugar Shack as the "renowned New York Troupe with a sizeable reputation.. for mixing old-school charms with new confrontational twists." We're already set to go back in March 2011 and plan to include an additional show in Berlin. Thank you to all our fans for encouraging us to become an International Burlesque production company!

In addition to our travels overseas, RunAround Sue and Scooter Pie are still bringing you the most diverse wednesday nights around every week at the Delancey. We've also begun a partnership with American Shapewear lingerie and are cooking up all kinds of special surprises for you in the months to come.

Thanks for helping to make 2010 an extra special year! As we head into May, we're working harder than ever ("Oh poor me," says RunAround Sue from under a pile of feathers, sequins and stockings) to bring you some of the best entertainment around!

Like the snack cake, Scooter Pie may leave you feeling lightheaded, slightly guilty, possibly a bit ill and/or filled with the desire to consume more Scooter Pie. Unlike the snack cake (and to prevent any confusion, and/or possible cease-and-desist notices) Scooter Pie does not contain any actual marshmallow (regrettably), nor was she named after baseball legend Phil "Scooter" Rizzuto.


And never fear, LEGS MALONE is still near and dear to the Sugar Shack heart and will still be co-producing our shows in the Berkshires.

In like a Lion: March Madness in the Sugar Shack

Oh my Sweethearts, spring is coming!


We sure are ready for it here in the Sugar Shack. Although the first few months of 2010 certainly have been incredibly incandescent. We had the pleasure of co-producing the first show in Richmond, VA with an all NYC cast! We also loved up the East Coast with several worthy benefits during the month of February and we debuted our newest show: The House of Sugar at Public Assembly.
In January , Sugar Shack Burlesque became the first burlesque company ever to be a member of the New York Arts and Business Council. Love in the time of NOW! - February in the Sugar Shack

And here we go, falling further down the Rabbit Hole! February is upon us! And what a wonderful month do we have planned for all of our loved ones. And for those we haven't met yet - don't you think it's time to come and say hello?

Before we begin to tease and titillate with all of our upcoming projects, we'd like to take a moment to wish the lovely Legs Malone safe travels on her adventures to India. We will miss her terribly in the two months she will be away and will be saving up every bit of sugar we can to pour over top of her upon her return!
