Are you curious about the art of tease? Wanna make your public life a little more glamorous or your private life a little more exciting? Join NYC Burlesque Performers, RunAround Sue and Legs Malone in this special two-hour session. Both performers are professional dancers and producers in the vibrant NYC Burlesque scene. In this workshop, students will learn the basic moves and attitudes needed to turn a simple dance into an intoxicating experience. No dance experience required. Women only.
The Fan Dance (2:30-4:30), $75

***Please note, class is limited to 10 students
Fans are a timeless classic of burlesque, first brought to us by Miss Sally Rand at 1933 Chicago World Fair In this class, students will learn basic fan handling including passes, turns, and reveals. Students will be provided Ostrich feather fans and/or silk fans to dance with. Students should bring a dress that unzips in the back.
Owning It - Presence, On-Stage Confidence and everything else you need to work it (2:30-4:30) $60
Instructor: Legs Malone
Legs Malone will outline what it takes to hold yourself high and grounded whether you're in front of 2 people or 200. The class will include the power of going slowly, the beauty of simplicity and how to hold yourself with grace and poise even if you feel otherwise. Please bring a journal, an item of costume that can be removed, and a one sentence summation of what you feel holds you back from "owning it" on stage and off. Open to both performers and others who wish to walk into a room with confidence and assurance of their radiance.
Registration: To register, please email sugarshackburlesque@gmail.com and include the name of the class you wish to attend. Payment can either be made in cash at class or prior to class via paypal. Please note, walk ins are welcomed, but space is not guaranteed.
